My Roman Holiday

Oh my word! It's already August and I haven't even posted about my two days in Rome. So here is my little (yet not so romantic) Roman Holiday. We arrived on train late on June 7th and took a taxi to our apartment. I literally loved it! The next day we slept in till about eleven in the morning. After some lunch, we walked down the street to the Coliseum.

And of course we had to take a selfie! After cooling off back at the apartment, we went to see the Trevi Fountain, but unfortunately it was under construction. We found the Pantheon, but the inside was closed. It was still really cool to see it though. It was humongous!

We ate dinner right down the street, and headed to the apartment for bed. The next day we visited the Vatican. It was really cool. We went into St. Peter's Basilica, and I swear I walked over a thousand steps to get into the dome. I couldn't believe someone hand painted that whole ceiling by hand. Unfortunately we didn't get to see the Sistine Chapel. The line was ridiculous!
The next morning, we took a taxi to the airport and flew back to Spain. I loved Italy so much! It is seriously one of the most beautiful countries! I can't wait to visit again!

Venice

Hello! Hello! Today I was remising back on the day I was in Venice and how spectacular it was, and I thought "I haven't made a blog post about this yet!" So here I am typing away to one of the most magical days ever. It was on June 5th, after driving from Pisa the day we finally made it to Venice. I was so ecstatic! Ever since I was little I've dreamed of going to Venice, or Venezia as the Italians call it.

After parking the car, talking to some Italian lady for thirty-minutes, and getting tickets for the bus/boat ferry thing, we were on the island. The ride was long, but worth it to see all the beautiful building we were going by.

Next thing was trying to find our hotel which was...confusing. My GPS on my phone said I was there, when I knew I most definitely was not. Turns out you had to go down these alleys and turn to get there in the back. It sort of reminded me for Letter to Juliet for some odd reason. Hm? Anyway! We found the hotel and checked in, and cooled off. It was so so so hot there. One of the locals told me it gets as hot as Mexico, and that's not what I wanted to hear while I was wearing a black maxi.

After cooling off, we went sight-seeing. This city is literally so beautiful! So many bridges and amazing architecture. And of course, Louis Vuitton!

After our walkabout, we did something that was on my bucket list, since forever. We rode a Gondola down the flooded streets of Venice. It was like a dream. Everything was perfect!  Our paddler was so nice and fun, and we even got to listen to an Italian man singing in another person's gondola. Cue overload of pictures!

I loved Venice so much! Seriously my favorite place, and I can't wait to visit again!

Oh and here's that video for ya! Try not to die.
